Renowned KwaZulu-Natal potters Thembi Nala, Khulumeleni Magwaza, Shongasiphi Magwaza, Thandiwe Magwaza and Peni Gumbi will be demonstrating many traditional pottery processes from the grinding of the raw earth to the finished vessel.
Accompanying them is Professor Juliet Armstrong of the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a renowned ceramic artist and academic who has researched indigenous ceramics, the types of work made, the different uses for the vessels and their ritual context in rural Zulu living.
