Back to event index
Date: 30 January 2008
Time: 17:30
The Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum and the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA) have organised a special public viewing of the exhibition Images of Mandela Bay: Inner City at a cheese and wine function to be held at the Art Museum on 30 January 2008 at 17:30 for 18:00.
Guest speaker for the evening will be Mr Pierre Voges, Chief Executive Officer, who will share the MBDA’s exciting plans for the future of the inner city.
This very popular exhibition brings together images of the city’s past from the Art Museum’s Permanent Collection, with images of the MBDA’s present and future plans to develop the inner city. These two displays together create a sense of the city as a living, changing entity.
"It is wonderful to see the connection between the historical works of art and present day development which gives the viewer a sense of how the city has grown and will continue growing" says Exhibition Curator, Emma Taggart.
Various artist impressions of the recently announced redevelopment of the Tramways Building in the Baakens Valley will also be on display at the exhibition, giving the general public a sense of the multi©million rand development that is soon to commence there.
Members of the public who are interested in attending the cheese and wine function should contact the Art Museum on 041 5861030.
