Mandela Bay Arts Festival call out to crafters
Crafters and designers working in Nelson Mandela Bay are invited to submit their outstanding creations for an exhibition and retail opportunity at the Mandela Bay Arts Festival 2025 taking place in the Bay from 22 February – 2 March 2025.
The Mandela Bay Arts Festival will host two craft retail exhibitions, one at the Athenaeum and one at the Mendi Arts Centre.
The Craft exhibitions aim to provide both, a retail opportunity for local crafters while promoting locally made high quality craft. Craft will be accepted on consignment for display and sale.
HOW TO ENTER: This year crafters are invited to submit work ONLINE. The online application opens on the 6th of November and closes on the 5th of December. To enter please follow the link https://zfrmz.com/A7f9CaImpBD89y0AsoV0 either on your phone or PC and follow the prompts.
You may bring your items IN PERSON to the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum, 1 Park Drive, Central between 10:00 and 13h00 on 12 December 2024.
CRITERIA: The selection committee will be looking for high standards of technical skill and workmanship. The competition coordinators reserve the right to reject works which are too difficult to exhibit, move, install or hang.
Please note that a 10% commission to cover costs to run and administer the shops, will be added to your cost price and will make up the final sale price. Each crafter/designer can submit TEN ITEMS for display and sale.
